V is for Vermillion Valentine

I can remember the first time I was given a cheap set of pastels, one of the colors was Vermillion. My favorite color, it sent me in rhapsodies to swish it around on my paper. This love affair with the hues between orange and red continues with me to this day. It surprises me how infrequently I paint with this color; but I went all out for this painting.
This is a combination of two Valentines, the parrot tulips my husband gave me, and the Valentine painting (demurely hiding behind the flowers) that I made for him.

Happy V day, not quite St. V’s day, but why not!

What’s the best Valentine you ever gave or got?

This painting, measuring 10″ x 14″ is for sale, $175.00 this includes postage!

I think it was the year I was pregnant with my son, and my husband bought me a shotgun with a full action job, and a shortened stock so it would fit my short frame. I was positively giddy.

My best Valentine? Always: those hand-drawn children cards on the back of paper bags or an envelope. Those are the best.

Happy V-Day in April. The best valentine present I ever received and I’ve gotten diamonds, a mink, perfume and expensive bubbly but the very best was last V day when hubby gave me a prtable heating pad. LOL. I love it. I’m always cold. It is the one true thing that shows his love, he wants to keep me warm and cozy not the mink and bubbly didn’t do it but the heating pad is priceless! Your painting is beautiful and so are the colors.
