In the Garden of Eden

A very important event in a mother’s life is when their son gets married. A very important event in an artist’s life is when a close relative asks for a portrait of themselves and their new wife and the artist is not intimidated by the idea, but instead feels a wonderful challenge. I present to you my latest painting, of Megan and Tom Boothby. It symbolizes many things, the couple’s love for reptilian creatures, the beginning of their discovery of their relationship, and all the biblical connotations as well. This painting also illustrates for me the fact that I can paint, and I can capture likenesses of people as well.

Congratulations on your son’s marriage. Also how wonderful that they asked for a portrait to be painted, a wonderful gift to the newlyweds, and one that will be cherished always. Having seen their pictures you have captured their likeness beautifully and you should be congratulated on this effort.
I like the fig leaves forming the background and the inclusion of that special guest… “The Snake” is charming.
