He won the medal of honor! commission

He was 5’4″ he had a German name. Having almost completed his bachelor’s degree, he tried to enlist as a lieutenant, but was not able to. He finally  enlisted as a buck private and moved up the ranks to eventually become a 3 star general. He won the medal of honor for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.

His family wanted a painting done of him from an old photograph, to bring him back to life. Here it is.

Dear Mimi, I can see the humble pride of this man as he accepts the handshake of the man, who, I think, is Dwight Eisenhower. Thank you for this lovely story and strong, resilient painting. Peace.
