Donald’s Dream – the Hunter

I don’t know about you, but when someone wants to tell me about their dream, I get uncomfortable, because most dreams are utterly boring to anyone except the dreamer. So when my husband started telling me about this dream, my initial reaction vanished as his tale unfolded. I took a deep breath and sat down because this was no ordinary dream. As he narrated the story, images filled my mind and I already knew I was going to have to paint a picture to show what he described. Here is my painting, and if you’d like to read the story/dream, it is incredibly beautiful. My husband has a blog where he imparts his wit and wisdom. Lately he has been writing about his battle with cancer, so this healing dream is particularly beautiful in that regard. Please leave a comment if you visit his website, he loves a little attention!

ps you’ll find another dog painting that goes along with the story on his blog as well.

Wonderful paintings, and what an interesting dream of your husband’s. Loved the part about the hummingbirds landing – they aren’t often very still.

This is a lovely painting, I haven’t read the story yet, but will after this. To me this has more strength than some of your recent cats, perhaps because of the great tonal values achieved and nice compostion.

I visited your husband’s blog and left a comment. This makes for an interesting painting series.
