One of the things I inherited from my husband was a big family. When we were newly married, his sister had a bunch of little kids. They were completely adorable. While we were going through boxes that used to be in his mother’s house, we found an old wallet. The reference image for this painting, of two of his sister’s children, was a tiny little photo in that wallet. I wanted to keep this painting fresh and simple. I think I succeeded. “The Swing” is for sale, $150.00 it measures 8″ x 11.”

Sometimes painting is therapy for the painter. When it is two shades of grey outside, sometimes it’s nice to have something bright and sunny to lighten up the studio. And thus this painting was born. It’s 11″ x 15″, and can be shipped anywhere in the USA in time for Christmas. This painting is for sale $175.00. Remember, all proceeds of this sale (and the sales of all of my paintings) go to charitable organizations who are attempting to save endangered species.. Â The reference for this painting comes from an old photo taken by Donald Boothby.

When I was first contracted to do this portrait, I was afraid it was never going to happen. The girl’s mother kept giving me bad photos from her phone. She kept talking about how difficult it was to get a picture of this girl. Then it happened. I got them to come over to my house for a photo session.
She was demure and calm and incredibly easy to photograph. What makes a good portrait is a good reference photo. And here I had it. I am extremely pleased with the results. Yes, I can paint your family members too. Get in touch, we’ll talk.

If you’re really romantic and you like bikes, this painting might grab you. It is obvious to me anyway that the owners of these two bikes are lovers. Even the bike lock seems to form a part of a heart as it encircles the two bikes. This is a 6″ x 6″ painting. This painting is sold!

It’s still early in the day, no one else is about; so you leave your bike up against the brick wall across from the bistro where you just want to run in and get an espresso. I have been having fun painting Katrina with various backgrounds; I love bricks, bikes, flowers, and cats. Hopefully you do too. Katrina was actually black with red accents, but I was curious if I could pull off an all blue and red painting. This is the result. It’s 11″ x 15″ and this scanned image is the major part (but not all) of the actual painting. Asking $175.00 for this one. All proceeds go to help keep some fragile endangered species alive.
