I took an Intro to Acrylic class last week, taught by Alicia Harvey, who I would recommend to anyone who wants to get a start with the acrylic medium. I sat side by side with my husband, a total beginner to the world of painting, and the two of us explored and went in completely different directions.
I love cormorants, they look prehistoric as they sit above the water and fish and then dry their wings. Here they are with the sunset glow surrounding them.

This looks great for your first try with acrylics. I still prefer watercolor, but it is fun to play around and try new things. Your composition and colors are really nice in this one.

A very good job, excellent. Yes, I enjoy working with acrylics too. I have worked in oils, but I can’t take the fumes. Check my bird on PPF, it is a watercolor.
Nicely done. Interesting color choices. I love acrylics, basically for how quick they dry. They can be handled like watercolors or oils. The accommodating medium.
