xmascard17textsJust for fun, I decided to make a personalized Christmas card for next year, but I couldn’t wait. I found some musical angels painted by Memling, and shamelessly changed their faces. Happy Holidays to everyone!

La Strada Stretta

December 24th, 2016 No comments

stradastrettaBefore my grandfather died, he gave me a treasure. A penpal, a cousin who still lived in Italy, in the little town where he was born. That began a relationship with many, many cousins and friends who live there. Each time I go back, I rush around trying to take pictures so I can go home and paint another scene, a different angle, showing the charm of this place.

Winter Solstice Dawn

December 22nd, 2016 1 comment

solsticeskyOne of the nice things about the winter solstice is that I can eat a leisurely breakfast and then go to my studio to paint as the sun rises. I am so fortunate to have a view of Lake Washington from my studio. Happy Solstice to all of you! For us in the north, it is a day we look forward to, because after this, the days start to get longer. How sweet it is.
