A pair of lions

12065925_10154317766513047_8201009167519091442_nI painted these lions as the plight of our planet’s lions became apparent to me. We have assumed that we would always have happy wild lions, but that is no longer the case. There are less of them all the time, and they need our help. After Cecil was murdered by an arrogant, law breaking, entitled hunter; I realized that lions need our help too. As with all of my paintings, the International Society of Endangered Cats is where all proceeds of this sale will go.
I stuck the paintings onto a couple of Italian pastry trays that I’ve lovingly saved for over 10 years, and made something even more beautiful. They are ready to hang, just peel the tape off the back.
If you care about lions, you might consider this purchase. A gift for a loved one born under the sign of Leo? Or just someone who loves cats. $125.00 buys them both. Thanks!

Still life with Glads

gladsAfter seeing a friend’s flowers on facebook, I decided to try something different, a still life; and this is what I came up with. She had captured a golden glow in her living room, and I wanted to try it with paints. This is the result. The room has a warm glow and the flowers brighten it nicely. This measures 9″ x 12″ and is on fine Arches watercolor paper. This painting is sold!

A flying ride – with Donald

donaldbikecrowsA friend asked me about doing a painting of Donald on his bike and as a result, I revisited a painting that I did of Donald FOR Donald some years ago. He loved crows and he also loved being on his bike of course. The reference for this painting was from when he was riding around the Grand Canyon, one of his greatest achievements on his bike, and it truly shows his joy for living.
