White Callas for my love

Happy Valentine’s day. This Valentine’s day I chose the Calla Lily, because of its symbolism and shape. I got a little fanciful with the colors, but that’s what artists do. Here’s what ehow says:
Like most flowers, the calla lily has a symbolic meaning. It is, ironically, associated with both weddings and funerals. The calla lily is symbolic of marriage and purity because of its white color and its trumpet-like shape, similar to a woman’s shape. It is also the symbol of rebirth and resurrection.

I chose to paint this flower before I read the meaning but it certainly fits for this year. Happy St Valentine’s Day! Each of these 5×7″ paintings are for sale for $50.00 each. All proceeds go to animal conservation charities.
