Daffodils in the window

yogawindow
Yesterday in yoga class, I couldn’t take my eyes off the beautiful daffodils that were sitting in the window alcove above me. Now, in yoga, you are supposed to focus on your breathing and not think of anything except what you are doing. But there were those flowers, glowing into the room. I did my best to ignore them. Ok, I couldn’t ignore them. At the end of class, I did a quick sketch to fix the details in my mind. I painted this on handmade paper from India, I love this stuff because of the way it acts when you do multiple washes (the outside wall). This is just a postcard sized painting. I might do it again, only larger.

  1. So pretty! A glimpse into the outside world. I love how the flower vases take up such a small part of the painting and make such a lovely focal point.
