Tiger’s eye

tigereye

Yesterday was Global Tiger Day, and I decided to do a watercolor  painting of a tiger and then  quickly sold it. But I discovered that I am really enjoying painting tigers! This morning, I found myself wondering how little of a tiger I could paint and still find myself looking at a tiger. Then I started noticing the wonderful colors, patterns and textures to be found on a tiger’s face. And the tiger’s eye, which looks deep into your soul… and sees dinner.

This painting is for sale, $60 buys it. It measures 5″ x 7″, on imported Italian watercolor paper. All proceeds go to ISEC Canada International Society for Endangered Cats.

July 29th is World Tiger Day. Tigers are the largest of the cat nation. They are endangered every where mostly because of loss of habitat. It is scary to think of how many tigers were once shot for sport. There are few creatures on earth as beautiful as these intelligent mysterious cats. This painting is SOLD, it measures 5″ x 7″ .
The proceeds go to International Society for Endangered Cats (ISEC) Canada

In the garden

garden
Painted a little garden scene this morning, inspired by all the colors in my garden and all of the amazing flowers you can see all over Seattle. This is a little postcard that someone is going to get in the mail. Decisions, decisions. This painting is not for sale.

21 – Enza, my cat poses again

enzaposeI thought I would take a picture of Enza posing, and draw from it later, but she wouldn’t cooperate. She wanted me to sketch her live or forget it. Every time I lifted my phone to snap a picture, she moved. So I settled into the sketch, marveling at how she had all of her toes in a row, black, cream, black, cream. Adorable. She held the pose for me while I multitasked (eating breakfast and sketching) good cat. she was rewarded with a kibble.. or 3.
