For World Lion Day, I decided to paint a lion and a lioness. These are 5″ x 7″ paintings on Italian watercolor painting. I let my imagination go wild, and have the lioness exiting a cool blue lake. The lion is standing on a hill, surveying his territory. Both of these paintings are for sale, $50.00 each, and shipping is free in the USA
My sister is on vacation in France, and she sends me daily updates of her adventure. She saw a pretty garden in Amboise, France, but couldn’t get close to it because a cat growled and hissed at her. She managed to take his picture. The little black cat behind him seemed friendlier, but the first cat didn’t allow closer proximity. Thanks to modern technology, my sister shared her photo with me, and I was able to paint it (using paint, brushes and paper) and then take a picture of my painting and send it back to my sister. She exclaimed, “this is better than my photo!” and that, my friends, is what makes a good painting. This painting is 11″ x 15″ and is for sale for $175.00. All proceeds go to endangered species conservation.

High up in the arid hills of the Andes live a very small population of wild cats. They are considered the small cat analog to the snow leopard, and belong to one of the rarest and least known of all the cat species. They are endangered, due to over-hunting and habitat encroachment.
There exists a group, the Andean Cat Alliance, who are working to learn about these cats while preserving habitat and educating the people who share the land with them. I support them by selling my paintings and spreading the word about this cat.
This painting measures 11″ x 14″ and it is for sale for $250.00. All proceeds go directly to the Andean Cat Alliance. Help me keep this winsome little cat alive!

I recently painted this for a fellow blogger who goes by the handle “Intense Guy” – follow the link, and you can read his blog too.
This was an interesting assignment, as the cats were not together, so I had to use a little artistic license. I love to paint cats, so if you have a cat that needs a portrait, give me a shout.

Continuing experimentation with the 300 pound hand made cards my sister gave me. The experiment today was how fine can I go?
Enza was just sitting there sweetly but when I looked up, she moved her paw into this pose, which I caught.. I thought she looked kind of cute, she thought she needed a treat.. And so it goes with cat models. Wonder who’s going to get this post card?!
