Day 7 – cycling in the desert

desertsunset
The winters in Seattle can be pretty dark and gloomy, so my husband used to plan annual trips in November to ride in Arizona. Arizona in November promises warm weather and sunshine, two things that cannot be found in Seattle that part of the year, so when I could, I went with him.
One of the nicest things about riding in Arizona was the flatness. The other part that I liked was the wildlife. There are many trees and bushes which lack anything you could recognize as a leaf. I picture this cyclist here enjoying the sweetness of the air as the sun rises in a land where it can be warm in November.

This painting is for sale, it is bargain priced during this 30 day challenge at $45.00. Except for postage and sales tax, all of the price goes to help endangered species. please use the paypal button below to buy:

Bikes in shadows

I was recently inspired by another watercolor artist’s rendition of bicycles, so I tried painting some again. I tried two different color schemes and two different methods. What do you think? The brown version is 5″ x 7″ I am asking $75.00 for it. The blue version is about 8″ x 10″ and I am asking $100 for this one.

The holidays are coming. Buy American made and support a great cause at the same time!

Four and twenty blackbirds

fourandtwenty
This painting just made itself. After putting the bike into an architectural environment, I was adding light and shadows, and thought, this needs more life. And a bird popped out of the pannier and landed on the bike. It looked so lonely there, so I painted a few more. Then a flock. and I realized, he had a pie in the pannier, and the pie was open, so they all flew out.
This time I made the bicycle an exact replica of Katrina, Donald’s bike because it is such a beautiful design.

This painting measures 11″ x 14″ and it is for sale $250.00

As with all of my paintings, the full sale price of this painting when sold goes to wildlife conservation efforts.

Bike Love

If you’re really romantic and you like bikes, this painting might grab you. It is obvious to me anyway that the owners of these two bikes are lovers. Even the bike lock seems to form a part of a heart as it encircles the two bikes. This is a 6″ x 6″ painting. This painting is sold!
