A street in Sersale – following the light

My reference for this watercolor painting was a photo I took in 2001 before Adriana replaced her classic old door with a sturdy modern one. I tried to make the light draw you into the photo and look down the street. I have been practicing this technique with watercolors, and I particularly love this street and this scene of an old man walking home. This is a street my grandfather ran up and down as a child, because on the end you can’t see is the main Piazza of San Pasquale. Sersale is the town my grandfather, his father, his father’s father, for many generations were all born. 500 years of generations, to be exact.
