a portrait from an old scratchy b&w negative

youngdaleThe hardest thing for me to do as an artist is to try to catch a likeness from an old scratchy photograph. I actually only had the negative, but thanks to modern technology, I was at least able to make a positive copy from the negative with my scanner. Three attempts later, I feel like I’ve almost captured a likeness of him. 1971 is such a long time ago!

Callas flowers in watercolor

callas
Sometimes it’s nice to paint white flowers, they are both fun and challenging. A fellow artist took this snapshot and gave me permission to use it. This painting measures 5″ x 7″ and it is for sale. $50.00 takes it home to anywhere in the world. All proceeds go to endangered species conservation.
