Washington Pass – North Cascades Range

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Washington Pass, in the North Cascades Range of Eastern Washington is 5477 feet high. It is dramatic and gorgeous. It was very inspirational, and once again I tried to paint a landscape. Happily, it looks like I succeeded. A certain set of determined cyclists like to ride up that ramp (followed by switch backs) to achieve the ultimate rush, getting to the top of a mile high mountain. You can’t see him in the picture, but my husband was on this road that day reaching for the sky.
